About Myself

CAPTURING CREATION'S LIGHT

Greetings!

My name is Tobias.  I have been an avid photographer for about 8 years now. I am self-taught and always learning and looking for new photographic angles and shots.  I shoot mainly macro, nature, urban street, and fine portrait. That said, you will see by my portfolio I am not limited or bound to any one form or style of photography (I enjoy them all). I use Lightroom to make minor edits, but try to do minimal editing and to leave the natural beauty of the photo and its subject material as untouched and clean as possible. I believe that creation has so much color and beauty on its own that I don’t need to add anything to make a photo “better” or “great”.   I use Sony full frame mirrorless cameras and almost all the photos on my site where taken with vintage Minolta prime lenses.  I hope you enjoy seeing my worldview through my work.  Thank you so much for visiting and please feel free to contact me with any questions, thoughts, purchase inquiries, or to just say hi, I’d love to hear from you!

AWAA?

AWAA stands for “Amateur with an Attitude,” a playful nickname I affectionately earned from my younger siblings when I first started capturing “creation’s light” at the age of fourteen and when I was determined to prove I had an unrivaled eye for detail. Since those youthful, exploitative days, I have sought to master my craft and become a true professional, but the nickname stuck and has now become my signature and photographic persona.
